Dear mum,
My hands shake as I write to you. The quiver in my muscles is nothing compared to the pain in my heart. But today I leave not to depart the earth but to see if I can escape this present life as I know it.
Did you know that I was just give years old when your brother forced my mouth on his manhood? It became a ritual till I was ten. Did you know that your husband raped me when I was 12 years old till I was 15. I know you knew because I told you when I was 5 and when I was 12. Both times you called me a witch who wanted to ruin your good life. Did you know that I got pregnant once for your husband and he took me to where it was removed. I bled for days. God how I bled, I thought I would die but I didn't.
Whenever your brother comes around my mouth was assaulted, then your husband takes over at night.
I cried every night yet you turned dear ears to all because you didn't want to lose your precious husband. You sacrificed me on the altar of your selfishness
Well, I found out the truth. I am not your daughter. I am my father's daughter.
On the blood that left my body, I curse your womb. I go forth to find life and I hope I find it. You will reap what you sow. It's the karmic law. I do not hate you and I do not forgive you.

With bloody pain,
Wendy

Wendy left the letter on the table, took a snapshot of the letter plus every evidence she piled up of the abuse she went through and emailed it to largest media house anonymously with her mother's name attached. She picked up her belongings, left and never looked back at 16.
