It was a night to my wedding, and I was experiencing the jitters. Not your typical anxiousness to get married but full blown dread and fear. Of course, I tried to rationalize it while I made sure that everything is in place. I was so tired, not just physically but mentally and emotionally. I wish I could talk to someone, especially my best friend Melinda but Everyone loves Davis. Sometimes I am confused, maybe I am seeing wrongly and about to ruin the best gift. But, gifts are supposed to make you feel great not stare at you like snake.
It was getting late, I had to listen to advice and go to bed so I can look rested enough for my big day. As I got ready for bed, I heard a knock. Thank God, I locked the door.
"Melissa dear, open up" Immediately I heard Davis voice outside my door, I froze up in fear.
"Melissa, open up I just want to see you one last time before we get married. I want to be sure I am the lucky guy who finally won the price."
His voice slid up my skin like a creepy crawling creature. The panic set in again. "How can I marry someone that makes me feel panic every time? But, I can't afford to disappoint my parents after all they have done for me." I thought.
"Your happiness is important too, run away while you still can." I heard the whisper in my heart. Melinda my best friend have always told me to do what makes me happy because everyone else is selfish to a greater degree.
"Melissa, I know you can hear me. You don't want anyone to find me here at your door. You know you are a weakling. You need me to be strong".
The connecting door to my room opened and I saw Melinda, with Stark fear in my heart which I was sure was reflecting in my eyes.
"Melinda, please help me run away, I can't marry Davis."
"Finally" was all Melinda said.
