Diary Of A Soldier
As I sat with myself
Head down facing a reflection of myself
I thought; who is this I see now; me or myself
I remembered yesteryears when I looked at myself .
No beards, no scars, just me,my wife and myself.
My teeth as white as the conscience inside that very self.
Then I lost my wife to a war created by men like myself
For 3 and a half years I forgot myself
The river coloured with blood from men I killed myself.
I took a new form with scars inflicted by myself.
Now, I look at the waters reflection and see not myself
Rather I see a foolish stranger with conscience as dead as his first self
I cry; not only for myself
But for the unborn ones, who because of myself
Will initiate another war for the sake of themselves
