When Nigeria was first seen by me.
A white stranger gripped unto she
Giving her name, language n' all she was to be.
Diverse people n' cultures bound with loose stitches
Thus followed crisis, strifes n' many hitches.
Then the freedom surge n' song rose in high pitches.

Then free she was n' the stranger went away
Thus our nationalists had carried the day
They ruled well n' put her in good play.
But into power came the lovers of fire
Guns who made all bad, worse and dire
Till God tore her away from the men of hire

And gave back the people all the powers
Suits and Agbada lined her power corridors n' towers
She became a little better n' green like flowers
Then rotten n' bad she became under the potbellies n' beasts.
Her hope lies in all changing, from the highs to the leasts
All doing the right things, then peace and love like feasts.
