I BLED....
The pain was deep, the scars too wide to hide
The struggles, the rubbles, the toggles, life's bubbles
For me, there was no reason to live, no key or clue to survive,
So, I bled...
Like a tumour, the weight of life metastasised to my tarsals
Darn it! I looked through the nooks of the earth for a surgeon
But in my searching and finding, I found none
So, I bled...
I thought Red was the colour of Love and white,the skies
Until the fluid from the wound was deep and it's colour was Red
Then, I saw what red is, when blood spilled from my shattered heart
So, yes- I bled
In my bleeding and dying, my weeping and crying
I wished a balm for my sores would come, an aid for my pain
But humans ran from me, they said I stink and they spat
So, I bled.
They threw me a pity party, my folks, the organizers
Ready for me to throw in the towel
All who knew me saw my weakness- the blood
So, I bled
But I'm getting up now, getting patches for my ashes
I'm gathering the broken pieces of my heart,See me build a skyscraper
Nothing is going to stop me now, not the hurdles of life
For though I used to bleed, now I say.... I lead!
