You grew up hearing the same mantra your grandfather told your father while growing up. As a child, you both are promised the leadership seat tomorrow. Then again, they told you, life begins at 40. So, tomorrow really never came for your father till he was about 70. He's the leader today, and you're the tomorrow, waiting patiently till grey hairs confirm to you tomorrow is here.

It's so sad that your father inherited the seat by putting you through deceit. He grew up nurtured in wealth, but left you with poverty. He grew up attending free schools, but he's constantly increasing your school fees.

The generation of your rfather is what you can call a wasted generation— by the evidence, all he left is a pile of garbage after squandering the family's wealth. But then, it would only be a complete waste when you, the product of their actions decides to continue to burn valuables in fire. Your father's generation is filled with rulers of today— with  blunt and crooked edges, not being able to rise to the occasion of leading a straight line successfully from point A to B on a horizontal line. The only time they rule a straight line is when they divide the people in opposite sides of misunderstanding or bringing the economy from point A up above to a point down below Z.

Your father's generation has created such an atmosphere of people who grew up caged in insecurities. Promising change with not improvements to show for it. Promising power yet too weak to take a hit. Broken promises after promises that culminated into trust issues. Lies wiping out lies that made you an atheist. Anyone, even your peers can't tell you a thing that won't seem like a repeat too– a process to the reincarnation of Father's litany of woes.

Your father's generation have taught you that they owe you nothing except the problems you're to inherit, but you owe them and the generation after you a lot as a problem solver. The generation of your father has left you a log on the highway. The gravity of responsibility is soon to fall on you to lift the log from the highway. You should know the change that brings the improvement you so much clamour for begins with you. In spite of the paradox of leaders of tomorrow chanting not too young to rule, the tomorrow is today. You have to become what you can be but haven't been yet. Do what you can do, but haven't been done yet. Sit quietly, but don't sit back waiting for a leader— a messiah to save you. The awaited messiah is right inside of you, today!
