Sailing for miles now under the dusk,
Eldorado they say is a place of myth,
Perceiving the surge of golden musk,
Onto fantasy you sailed to sit,
On a voyage to prove them wrong,
With a strident of gold would you play the gong.
Calculating trajectories on an ancient magical map,
Following directions from an aged faded scroll,
Cleaning Augus stables with a hose in a tap,
This voyage seems to be beyond a stroll,
"But who says this is beyond me?",
"I'll burn incense on it for the whole world to see."
Dusk till dawn, you bid your time,
Years passed, you stilled your tide,
On this solitary journey without a dime,
You kept your head straight and your smile wide,
Not knowing how far off the target,
Not knowing the target that was set.
In the tussle of the evening slumber,
Light flashes broke the lids,
With fatigued gait both lucid and yonder,
Reluctant eyes coercely slid,
Could this be the big yellow sun?
Or the glow of gold in the horizon?.
Eureka, Eureka,
Eldorado, a place of myth, has been found,
It's as constant as the northern star,
Her roots running deep in the ground,
Now you will burn incense on gold,
And heat rubies to keep out the cold.
