Episode 1

Growing up as a child Chika had always wanted to be a lawyer. She was so beautiful that even her peers envied her. The only problem she had was the illness called shyness, it ate her up gradually that she couldn't even defend her self in the midst of her peers. Chika was an extrovert around those she knew and an introvert to those whom she termed "Acquittance". Life was so Rosy that she didn't even know what the word suffering was. There was a day she had an argument with her friend over being poor "it's not possible to be poor said Chika , those who are poor are those who wasted thier youthful age and are lazy". Her friend Clara was shocked at that statement " life would not always give you what you want and believe me it's not every poor being that is lazy most of them are still putting in more effort to become wealthy.Chika laughed "that talk is called okwu nkasiobi(comforting words) show me a lazy man and I would show you a poor man". It's just grace said chika "just pray you don't wear that shoe believe me it's the worst thing that can ever happen to someone".
Few years later chika finished her secondary school education and sat for her jamb two days later she went to the cyber cafe to check her result with great joy she ran home to inform her father. When she got to the gate of her house she discovered that the house was unusually quite, she heard noises as she approached the door of the kitchen a voice she was used to right from her childhood di'm oma! The voice cried out "why now after all we've being through together", it took chika few minutes to realize that the voice she heard was that of her mother. In a state of confusion she ran to the sitting room "what's going on she cried? "Not my father she wept profusely not now, daddy why now? She wept bitterly and slept at the spot.
On a Sunday morning Clara came visiting "chika" she called out sweetly am so sorry about what happened take heart what really happened" , my kind hearted father was killed by unknown gun men without no reason, what is this country turning into? she creid she wept bitterly for hours that no comforting words from Clara gave her the relief she yearned for.
Two weeks after she lost her dad, she travelled to awka for her Putme exam. Looking at the screen all she could think of was her dad tears flowed freely from her eyes, she cleaned the tears with the back of her palm. Days after her exam she decided to travel back to Lagos where they reside. On getting home Chika couldn't bear what she saw right before her very before was a sight that pierced her heart like a sword.
