#Day 20

Somto sat close to the driver’s seat at the front. Her aunt was driving, a young boy approached with his window cleaning tools and started cleaning the car. She observed her aunt’s reaction, “ is this car not clean her aunt said in a low voice, this boy sef”. The boy kept on cleaning till he got to the window of the driver’s sit, her aunt beckoned on him to stop cleaning. The guy started pleading that he needed to eat, Mrs Agnes paid no attention to him. He approached somto and deep down she felt pity but she had nothing on her. “Even if I have would I be able to give it to you this one my aunt didn’t even pay attention to you she might take my act of kindness the wrong way”, somto said in a low voice.
She smiled at the boy and removed her face as he pleaded with her, there was nothing she could do. As the car started moving, she stared at her aunt and began to wonder why she didn’t help the little boy. There was money in the car that would be used to spray her children when they perform well at their graduation. She wondered if that was more important than helping someone in need. As the car drove pass the boy, she stared at her aunt, she wondered why Mrs Agnes refused to render assistance to the boy. “Years ago I helped a small boy who said he was homeless , later in the night he came disturbing in my dream. I couldn’t sleep well for a month before I went for deliverance. Ever since that day, I vowed never to help any one again”, she said. No wonder somto thought to herself , “ the economy is really bad that even the good ones are scared to help so that they won’t get hurt”.
