NYARINYA
(A pastoral poem)
Nyarinya,
Let's play in the plains.
Sit by the river,
whilst throwing pebbles in it.
I've been a loner,
finding amusement in
marching with my cows.
Stamping on herbage.
Nyarinya,
Let me take you on a cattle ride,
I'd lift your tender legs,
and place you on it delicately.
I'm the real cow boy,.
the one that rides on cattle,
not those from the wild west
riding on horses.
Nyarinya,
We would walk in the meadow,
sniffing the beauty of nature.
Walking side by side.
Holding your dainty hands,
we would roll and roll
until we feel dizzy.
Laying side by side.
Nyarinya,
Would you let me milk the cow,
and share of its milk with you
from same gourd.
I want to be your fura
and you will be my nunu
And I'd let the whole world know that
