WIFE MATERIAL

Wife material is a common word being thrown around to describe an ideal wife. I have heard many people describe wife material in different lights and I have come to the understanding that so many of these descriptions do not really give the adequate answer to this topic. 

Before I give my own view on this topic, why haven’t we heard about “Husband material?” Or the man doesn't have to be adequate enough to have a “Wife Material?"
 Have you seen a mad man wear a royal apparel? And like the Holy Book says, 'can you put a new wine in an old wine skin?'

 My point is that as men are busy looking for a “wife material", they should prepare themselves so as to be able to utilize this “material” so it’s not abused. 

To the author, the word "wife material" is kind of complex but we would touch the basics.

 I saw somewhere, where a lady said, 

"Ask a Nigerian man to describe an ideal wife material and he would describe a maid."

 Funny, right? But she is right. We think a lady being domesticated makes her an ideal wife but I am here to remove that notion from your subconscious. 
Being domesticated is something everyone should be. As a guy, you should be able to take proper care of your house even before a lady comes into the picture.
 I wonder why it is seen that a lady is a wife material because she can do those things. 

Not throwing away the fact that it’s the responsibility of a good woman to properly take care of her home, that shouldn’t be only the criteria. 

For me a lady should be termed a “wife material “ when she in addition to taking care of the family (which a lady in her right senses would do), should be able to add adequate value to the home, like your husband should be able to consult you if he has any challenge and be sure of getting a solution. Your children should be able to count on you to help them in their various challenges. Your thinking prowess should be high, in the sense that you are like a demi god at home, not just because of how domesticated you are, rather, how invaluable you are to the development of your nuclear family. 

To the young men looking for the ideal wife material, same way it looks insulting going to the market to get a commodity worth 100 million naira, and all you are offering is 5 thousand naira, it is also an insult, not being adequate enough to handle a lady with all these qualities, not being up to standard. Same way a guy needs a good wife, a lady needs a good husband. 
So to the guys, develop yourselves.
