Poverty what a benign word for a wretched fate,
Almost masking the horrors of an empty pot,
The constant fear of our future lot!
She rules over the mind, bidding fear, chaos and anxiety...
Her throne is far to weighty for a man's heart to carry,
Her subjects thus call religiosity
Oh what a tyrant you are,
You have broken more spirit that can be numbered,
You unjust crown must be dismembered
Poverty, the sigma of a stolen dignity,
The legal enemy of humanity,
The welcomed demon in our society,
The sorrowful portion of blank Mind, oh poverty.
She strolls through mind, eating deep into the bone marrow,
She is not just hungry or low cash fellow,
Poverty isn't the lack of penny to pay
She is the fierce enemy we have refused to slay.
