CAREER WOMAN
ACT 1, SCENE 1
Lisa is an industrious woman,who loves her job so much.she does not joke with her job.she goes to the office very early in the morning and come back late at night. She was taking her breakfast when she received a call from her mother that their pastor told her that she should not go out Today, tomorrow and next tomorrow.
LISA:[ She spilted the tea from her month when she heard what her mum said] three days?
MRS JOHNSON: yes dear, you know obedience is better than sacrifice, for that three days, I will be praying for you.
LISA: Mum, I have to go office today for presentation
MRS JOHNSON: please leave it, I don't want to lose you, take care.
LISA: O-kay ma[ Hanged up] "Oh shit ! [Disturbed] I need to call the boss [ She called her Boss and told him that she won't be able to come to office, luckily, her Boss accepted her request because she has never requested that offer before, moreso, he extended it to two days because she is hardworking woman] Thanks Sir [ She hanged up]
LIGHT FADE.
SCENE 2
ON THE SECOND DAY
Truly,Lisa knows that her husband will be coming from abroad today which she ought to take him when he arrives at the airport.
GEORGE: Hello Dear, I've arrived at the airport
LISA:[fake excitement] ohh... But I won't be able to pick you because I'm not around, I'm assuring you, I will be around in the next two days, you can lodge in the hotel, I'm very sorry.
GEORGE: Okay no problem, take care of yourself, love you.
LISA: I love you too [ She hanged up] Wow! work done but tomorrow [Signed] hmmmm...[ Her phone rang, she received the call] Hello Boss
ENG.WALTER: Hello dear, Don't forget we have a contract with Idris oil and gas limited and you are the one to represent our company because I know you are competent enough to handle it. please don't disappoint me, you know it worth fifty million naira and we can't afford to lose it
LISA:O-kay, okay Sir
ENG.WALTER: Take care [ Hanged up]
LISA: [ Signed] hmmm... I love my job because it's my life. I have been at home for the past two days doing nothing, I can't go to work, I've missed a lot, I don't think it's bad if I go out tomorrow. After all, I have patiently obey the two days, The two days will mercifully speak for me, am I right? yes I'm right, it's my job we are talking about, I don't have any Choice than to go.
LIGHT FADE.
SCENE 3
ON THE THIRD DAY
Lisa was on her way to the office when she has a fatal accident, her spinal cord and legs were broken, the doctor said she has no choice than to sit on wheelchair for the rest of her life. What a lesson...
