MARRIAGE-MATICS

Marriage is not a bed of roses,
And love may not seem ever fresh.
Misunderstandings are bound to occur,
But how do we keep a happy home?

A tear never bethroed my face for years;
Like a queen I felt.
All I dreamt of,
I derived from my marriage.

All of a sudden,
Rain washed away my happiness.
Finding a woman on my matrimonial bed,
Started my love note on a new book.

Hate clouded my heart;
I rejected my man with the all of me.
How did it happen?
How come I was in that position?

My refusal to give him audience
Turned our home to a graveyard.
Drunk he became,
While I had silent cries.

A month multiplied itself by seven,
And my birthday popped up.
I had just walked in from work,
Only to find friends and families at home.

I slow-paced my steps,
Simultaneously looking at everyone.
My heart pounded faster,
As my man emerged from our room.

Our eyes locked for a while;
Everyone looked on.
The tears in his eyes told a lot;
He was not the man he used to be.

Memories flashed my mind;
Oh, how we used to love each other.
I ran up to him,
And tightly embraced him with shut eyes.

It had been so long I felt his warmth;
It had been so long I felt that way.
'I am sorry,' he said.
'I forgive you,' I replied.
