Roles of students in ensuring violence free election.
(A case study of kogi central)

Kogi central have been experiencing lingering community unrest which is mostly caused by electoral violence. Taking a bold step to face this reoccurring challenges makes the topic on "Role of students in ensuring violence free election," comes to face.

In order to look extensively at the roles on ensuring violence free election, let's pinpoint and know whom the task bearers are 'Students'

*Students: A student is a person who attends a school or other educational institute, in order to acquire knowledge or master skills on courses he study. A student is usually under the guidance of a teacher, a tutor or a lecturer.

A student is a person who involve itself in an extensive intellectual engagement with some matter, by finding solutions to problems, sorting answers and doing extra work after class, engaging in either theory or practical aspects of learning.

As a student, one is affected with the problems of its community as a community without peace cannot run it basic activities effectively, also smooth running of academic activities becomes jeopardise.

The following are the roles of students in ensuring violence free election.

1. Campaign on violence free election.
2. Coaching the youths on effect of violence to the community
3. Things learned should be used to promote community services and not otherwise.
4. Educated thugs should be call to order.
5. Drug abuse should be curb.
6. General education on thuggery and its effect should be done.
7. Students should enlighten the public on how to go about democracy.

Campaign on violence free election: Students should embark on campaign in ensuring a violence free election. This can be done by educating the general public on the evil in violence. Most people involve in electoral violence due to ignorance on what could befall them. They should be enlighten on what the community will lose if there is unrest and the possibility of their sponsors to turn against them if things go wrong.

Couching the youths on effect of violence to the community:
The youths are the backbone of any community, one will achieve a great success if the youths are convinced to contribute to the positivity of the community. Violence is a gate way to killing, poor infrastructural development and the rest, telling them this and more they are likely to suffer can change their mind to be less violence.

Things learned should be used to develop the community and not rendering it on social media conflicts debates. Words are heavy and could cause a lot of destruction so students should be mindful of what they chose to say as it can in turn not just affect them but their associates.
Drug abuse caused a lot of havoc and can lead one to do what is not expected of him. Students should couch youths on the effects and try to curb it excesses.

Thuggery should be shun, tell those involve to shun it and remind them that it is not a job.

People fight most times because they don't know what democracy is, they think power can only be acquire true the barrel of gun, this believe should be drive away from their heart and the true cause of democracy should be teach and made known to them.
