His axe was greeted with a groan as it touched flesh

It quickly disappeared into the skull of another

And in less than five minutes seven enemy soldiers laid dead at the generals feet

He squinted his blood stained eyes

Observing the battlefield

They were still outnumbered five to one

A shout came from the enemy camp

Reinforcements just arrived

The shout multiplied rapidly and as morale grew in one side

It decreased in the other

His warrior senses told him that this was it

The final battle

He smiled and slowly the smile grew too big for his lips alone

And in no time he was laughing

Yes this was the end

But it was just the beginning of the end

He shouted like an injured beast

Startling his subordinates

They looked at his face and read the sentences that were written

Their shouts were evidence that they understood

The shouts like a virus infested all the soldiers

And so did the last stanza of the last song begin

Two  suns had risen and fell  since

His army was down in both numbers and stamina

And yet they fought on

The sixth spear struck him

The spear bearer like those before him was on the ground before the blood stained spittle from the general's mouth

He killed five others before falling to his knees

He remembered in those final moments; his life

His son at home with his mother and his wife

He smiled even as he began his descent to the dust

However, it took him sixty more years to make it there

As strong hands caught him midair

Reinforcements had arrived
