DAY 6
THERE IS SOMETHING BENEATH THIS SKIN
There is something beneath this skin.
It is of many accord,
one of them didn't die with Maya Angelou,
the woman whose pen wrote magic.
There's something beneath this flesh.
It stands out among equals,
Martin Luther possessed it. He was a martyr
taken from us by the gun.
There is something beneath this layer
bold and equal to task,
like Nelson Mandela, the conqueror,
the man whose leadership skill we all seek.
There is something beneath this skin,
brave and soothing,
they lived after Fela Kuti.
He sang for the good of all.
The path they thread lingers a known aura.
Their footprints is plastered on the sands of time,
for that thing beneath their flesh
defines their person.
So, you see this black skin that comes
In different shades,
There is something beneath it.
It is called greatness.
