DAY 18

COMER OF THE NIGHT

The evil of the sun hunted me till dawn,
I am soaked in sweat, ditched in this night gown,
Lying on this cold bed, evil hovers round my head,
I wish I have, but I lack tears to shed.

Now sleep has deserted me and
I'm being tortured by the crickets,
The songs they keep singing is
As unpleasant as this night itself.

Nights are said to be peaceful,
This word makes me hopeful,
But like before, the sun's connived with the moon,
The torture, remains till morning comes.

If sleep were to be an entity,
I'll seek and find her wherever she's hiding,
I'll beseech forgiveness
And ask her to liberate me from this sleepless hell.

Where's the comer of the night that brings peace?
My mind is so attached to things that does not matter,
I wish sleep will look at me with pity,
And make me forget the world in slumber.
