Days kings are put to bed
Queens are relieved of their burdens
These days we welcome the unknown legends
The sun smiling brightly from heaven
In some cases the sky weeps passionately with heavy down pour
Elders speaking in tongues
As their tapeworms are drowning in palm wine
People are buried in different thoughts
Today we have a new hero
The one that will write his name in the book of history
Without a biro
But come to think of it
As we celebrate this day now and then
Our years on earth are ebbing away
Our abode is tending to the grave
It's not a hex but the candid truth
Please bear with me today
I'm not up to taint the celebrating mood
But to thank God for his undying grace.
