Oh dear social media,
Ushering people into a state of euphoria;
Thou art an encyclopedia,
Connecting the world as fast as a cheetah.
One of thy children, Facebook,
Encompasses our faces like a yearbook.
Easy for us to search for our friends of childhood,
And sharing our memories like a storybook.
At the call of WhatsApp,
Active group messages flood in nonstop;
Statuses we read and rob,
Reposting like a throb.
Moving into the realm of Twitter--
With our tweets, we paint the world like a painter.
No wonder we read our books lesser,
Keeping us glued to our phones till dinner.
Oh, unto Instagram,
Our emotions we hang.
Like the father of many nations, Abraham,
We too want our names to become a slang.
Oh dear data consumer,
Success promoter,
World connector;
Who uses you not?
