You have 10 minutes to produce at least 100 words in response to the following question.

Technology is supposed to make us more connected. We can stay in touch with our friends all the time on Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat and of course by texting. But are our smartphones actually getting in the way of real socializing? Could technology be making us more alone?

Your time starts now! Submit on or before 20:18 (GMT+1).

TECHRIFIED

I was all alone. My mind and body and soul seem to be drifting away. I was lost in my own thought when Anime tapped me.

"What are you thinking?" she asked.

"Kola just broke up with me."

"What!" she ejaculated.

"Yes. Just now."

"Take a look at the message he sent to me." I said stretching forth my weary hand.

"Oh, I am so sorry about that." she said trying to sympathise with me.

"But, Baby girl, what really happened?."

"I was the cause of my own trouble. Trouble was at peace but I pulled it to my side." I said trying to wipe the tears in my sober face.

"You know I am a socialite. Yesterday, that is Saturday, We went to see his parents"

Technology is a way to make our lives easier but the truth is, it has also affected our social life. It has in a way made us lonely and discard friendship and genuine relationships among others.

So, the question of ' why would I need friends when I can get everything and also connect with friends on social media?'

Technology has eluded us from getting the real emotions that come with meeting and discussing with people physically, etc. It has also created a void of care created before the arrival of technology.

So, technology is making us feel alone.
