"Mike, you should get to class now. The lecturer just scheduled a test for immediately after lecture."
I jumped out of my bed and ran into the bathroom immediately I finished hearing the voice note Fred sent.
"What's wrong?" I heard the runs girl I was about having a romp with ask.
"I have an important business to attend to."
"But we are not done here." She argued.
"Yes, I know. If you want your money, you have to come back later or stay until I'm back. Afterall I've not done anything with you yet."
"I'll wait behind. Don't stay away for too long" She replied, making a loud sound with the gum she was chewing.
I dashed out of my room without bidding her farewell.
I was lucky, immediately the bike man dropped me in front the lecture hall, I saw Fred buying a pen.
"The test is about to start. You made it bro." He said after locking my hands for a shake.
"Will I find a seat beside you?" I asked.
"No man, I didn't bother to secure a seat. It was the stupid test that caused it." He replied.
"The course is not hard, you find someone to copy from."
The only free space I saw when I entered the hall was beside a well known female christian in my department. When I settled into the seat, she mumbled something I didn't hear but I replied her with greetings and a lot of whining so as to soften her attitude towards me.
The lecturer dished out the questions and I took my time writing it down. When I looked up to see if she had written anything, I was surprised. She did not even write the questions.
"Are you not writing the test?"
"The questions are tough brother, I will not submit. Maybe I'll be able to convince the lecturer that I was not around," she replied.
"Oh I see,"
My mind told me to buy the girl's idea but I waved it off since her reputation will make her get a makeup test but as the chronic absentee I was, I knew the lecturer would not even answer me.
I brought out my phone and was typing away when I heard the lecturer call out loud, "That guy".
When I looked up, he was right beside me.
"Handover your script." He voiced out calmly.
"Please sir," I begged.
He ignored me and snatched the script out of my hands.
When he walked some distance, he turned and said out loud "you will never pass this course. Now get out of my class."
I didn't even bother to beg, I just stood up and walked out ọf the hall.
When I got to the hostel and opened the door to my room, I froze.
My mom was sitting beside the runs girl and I could not fathom the expression on their faces...
