"The smell of Rejection "
Scented like blackwaters of death
Is that frail failing of one's heart
When met with a No,
When from him,all turns away.
It tastes like the bitter ripping
Of the heart into two
Like the still trim of hotwater
that trickles the fresh wound.
It sounds like the lick of the sharp steel dagger cutting
flesh and the very soul.
Like blade slicing through butter
Your words cut through me
So deep I seize to listen
All things feel numb
You used your words as weapon
And now it hurts so much
You've gotten deep under my skin
Putting me in an abyss
Rejection chokes,rolling
black rocks pounding against
the chest and hugging
the eyes with oceans of water.
Driving madness into the marrows
And leaves one more Adam
Slumped at home with dead hopes
No means more than it does
It isn't you anymore
You've quenched my fire
Driving me to insanity
Creating an essence so deadly
It doesn't let me see anymore
Rejection burns
Like arthritis on the elderly.
