COUNTING POUNDS
Am staring at our pictures
Of happier times
When you had only me
and we laughed at each other
Our smiles glowing in the dark
Now you don't look at me
Am bloated and heavy
The petite woman you married is gone
What's left is a pound of flesh
Do you remember?
how we use to fold in each other's arms,
And swirl around like no one was watching
Do you really remember how we use to love each other,
how we use to care about each other that no one could imagine to an inch
But I guess you don't love me anymore
perhaps you were busy counting pounds
Did you forget all those days and nights of pure affection and left me alone in the desert of thorns
and such a fool I am yes I am ditched
Remember when we made love
We were rabbits in heat
Now you don't care about me
Only striving to satisfy just yourself
And when you're done
You don't even cuddle me
You mutter under your breath
You're a sack of flesh
Nothing else matters to you than that
Its all over and I am lying all alone on the floor waiting for you to pick me up but it's all heavy for you now and you can't stand me now
Oh, my love, I loved to the moon and back but what am I supposed to do without you all along and how?
