The theme of this piece is weird right? You are probably wondering what I'm trying to escape from.
Is it from a slave camp? Or from the toxicity of my head?
I'm glad to tell you that there's nothing toxic in my head and I'm not in captivity either.
Are you in company of a friend? If so, ask the person what his/her biggest dream is.
The person probably said he/she wants to be successful. Am I right?
Okay, now ask the person if he/she is willing to leave the country.
I can bet it with you the person said yes, the person probably added that he/she wants to run, that he/she could even trek the Sahara or stowaway if chanced.
You are now understanding the concept behind this piece. isn't it?
The default fantasy of the average Nigerian is to escape from this shithole likened place.
Can the average Nigerian be blamed?
Even the rich and comfortable ones among us are securing a passage out of this country for their families.
As a matter of fact, the biggest help anyone could render to me personally now is a way out of this country either financially or in any other way.
You see, everybody in Nigeria has something to complain about,
The students are fed up of the incessant industrial actions,
Artisans are complaining due to lack of demand for human labour,
Civil servants are tired of the unencouraging pay and some, epileptic pay é.t.c
This country and perhaps continent has refused to ease pressure on the accelerator that brings about underdevelopment. In other words, our country is losing her value and the whole wide world knows that fact.
This corruption infested nation is not encouraging at all. Skills are not appreciated here until you are out of this country. Even kids are dreaming of life outside here...
New year resolutions of some people is to get out of this place, Imagine!!
Almost all Nigerians wants to escape except for corrupt politicians who are not done milking the nation dry. Don't stress it, their children and wives are no longer here.
"I wanna escape too, I want a better life for my family."
So, now if everybody wants to escape, what is left for the country as whole?
If everyone is willing to escape, what then is the hope for the nation?
