Day 3
Parental care

I always heard that mother is the first teacher of a child, mother is someone who cares and loves her child the most, mother is a close partner and a blessed guidance of a child. but for me I never attest to all this says. I heard my mother dumped me at my father's door when I was 6months old, my father picked me with full of tears and made a commitment to make me succeed in life.
He backed me, fed me, bathed me, took me to school and came to pick me after class. He enrolled me with a best school in the city. I was a dullard, even after all special lessons and private teachers, I don't understand anything, but the private school I was pushed me till I get to Ss2, when my sincere class teacher as at then noticed how suffered my dad had. She talked to him to let me go and learn an handiwork, which he adhere to her advice. his dream, he wants me to become an engineer. so he thought of taking me to a mechanic workshop to learn. I was there for long time, before my brain picked up to the work.
I fear my daddy, he beats me when I do anything wrong. "I should be pampered, since I'm his only child, why is he harsh at me this much, or did he adopted me?" I soliloquize, after I was beaten black and red when my boss at work reported me to my daddy for not concentrating to work at shop. He will also pet me, talk to me and pray for me at midnight, that is what cooled my head and made me hope he's my father and he wants the best for me.

I'm now a competent and certified mechanical engineer. I worked for my boss after some years of my freedom. Customers loved me, because of my humbleness, honesty and my loyalty, they always came with their faulty vehicles to our shop. that alone made my boss cherished and loved me among his apprentices.
One of the customers who often patronize our company, called me to a corner, talked to assist me, he gave me his complementary card. Before I knew it, I was issued to work at America embassy, in the mechanical department. I earned a huge sum as monthly salary.

A woman begs for arm along the road side, whenever I passed by her I give her token sum. On a faithful day, my Dad came to pay me visit at my work, then we were going home together, I branched where the panhandler stays, I took permission from my father as I was trying to get my car parked "excuse me Sir, give me some minutes". As the woman saw my car she rushed up to take money from me. My dad concentrated on what I'm about to do. The woman came close to my car, my Dad then surprisenly said "Kafaya?", the woman bend down to look the person who mentioned her name. she almost strike, with a faint voice, she said "Fatai!" Then fainted. We rushed her to the hospital, My Dad, with simple tears, narrated the whole story to me, beside her sick bed, i was weeping, "so i have a mother? My father never make me lack of any parental care". At that moment, the shock got her and she died. I screamed and cried. "I never tasted a Love and care from someone called mother."
