My CAUSE

My father who was at the age of 60+ is on the sick bed at the nearest hospital to our house at Abeokuta, the sickness requires surgery, the Doctor confirmed and asked us to raise the sum of 4 million naira to conquer the illness. I struggled but it's quite unfortunate that I couldn't raise a million naira.

As days, weeks and months run out, the more my dad sickness get critical. Now, Dad suggested I should sell his house to bring him back on his feet, with the word "if their live, there is surely hope". I got the house sold for 5 million naira, I go straight to deposit the money with the hospital bank, through the hospital cashier and other money were stated for further treatment and prescriptions which I paid them all along.

I went back to sit with my Dad, I was so unhappy. My Dad engaged talking to me, I tried to keep him shut but I couldn't. he said he'll be fine that I should allow him to speak up. In a deadly voice he speaks "O! Feranmi my dearly son, thank you for taking care of me, may your children also take Good care of you than you do. (Sighs) I don't know what this sickness would cause in the next minutes but I know I'm the cause of this sickness to myself. Had I know I would have listen to my father and obey his instructions. Hmm, I started smoking cigarette, weed, drinking alcohol and different hard drugs, when I met with a new company in my school. I was in the same hostel with these guys, they are from rich background, this is what they do to catch fun. I'm from a religious home which I hide it not to anyone. They don't feel pleased with me. I'm not born with a silver spoon in my mouth, so I need money to pay my school fees, no one to help me, I know how I left home and it'll be. so, I don't want to bother myself going home, I hope my friends will help me. They agreed to assist me but with a condition. They want me to join them with their mutinous act. I give it a thought to always be among with them in the school and act as a devotee at home, no one would suspect, so far my intention is to support my parents.
I joined them and the act has becoming my part and parcel, that if I don't smoke in a day, I'll feel deteriorated.

One day, my father caught me at home inside the bathroom smoking weed, he shouted 'Jesus Christ of Nazareth' he was shocked, 'Me!, how could it be my son, a faithful pastor, how come my son became a smoker' he wondered, then plead unto me to stop it, I tried to, but I can't, until he caught me again at the balcony of our house. My Sister was infront of me talking to me with tears, asking me to stop smoking and drinking, which I act deaf to her words. My Dad appeared like a ghost at her back, as our both eyes turned four, he slumped and died instantly. Then I repent and realized that, I've killed my own Dad with my sordidness.

Now, this is the repercussion of those days back. I don't know maybe I will survive with the surgery, if I don't. O! My Lovely Son, Pray! ask God to forgive me and grant me heaven, because I've tried to monitor you not to be like me at my adolescent age".
