Until you try, you won't know how far you can go. A lot of individuals in the world have made others define them, making them believe in the words said about them, most especially the negative ones. Many fail to reveal their real self, and settle for less, when they can actually become a moon in the midst of the constellation of stars. They let the words of negative minded people sink them in heated waters, and never look to realize who they truly are, without unleashing the beast in them.
"Dorris, look at you. Did you just say you want to become a Doctor? Do you yourself believe it is possible with your current situation? You only have your school certificate, which I don't really see as fantastic. In short, it doesn't really give you a upper hand for that course at all. You'd better go for a very low course. Moreover, you ain't really very good; why stress yourself?"
You know those people-- the vision busters, dream snatchers. Understand one thing this very moment. A negative minded person that speaks about your goal is either afraid of you succeeding or because they can't do what you want. So, know this that the perception of people about you ain't your concern. You leave them to do their work as you go about your own business with a positive mental attitude. A positive mental attitude is that confident, assured, unwavering, concrete, self-confident and unfaltering character you exhibit, as you work towards achieving your goal. It is a strong continuous effort even in a difficult situation.
It is high time you stopped listening to goal-shattering individuals who try to make you look like an ordinary being, and unleash the beast in you. You need to try to see what you can get, and not abandon trying.
Say to yourself, "I will try and do all needed to develop, to achieve what I want to achieve, and become who I want to be."
