INFANCY
Goodluck Benjamin
- The joy of infancy
Lying in my cradle 😴 😴
Cuddled by mama
Pet by sibling
Pampered by relations
Loved by the world 😍
The joy of infancy
My mother never let any hurt
The milk is always at it's best
Always sweet never sour
At dozen, am due
Expendee go clean the dishes
Have you done the chores?
The older voice would echo in my head of empty room as it ache 😫
At fifteen, more like a lion
Am not pampered but crushed
Nor cuddled but whipped
My world now smells cruel
As I look forward the future; my fate
At scores, am free
The soil can bear me witness
How the sun scourged me daily
The sky blue can testify that I had times slept under it
The joy of infancy
How I wish I remain an infant
Again cuddled by the older
Only if I can change my world
If there's reincarnation indeed!
I would never want to get old
There is joy at infancy.
IN MEMORY OF THE HOLY INNOCENT WHO DIED AT CHILDHOOD.
